Wedges Adoption Center - Opening Soon!

Every year, hundreds of Wedges are homeless, living on foster store shelves and stacked on shelves in the We Are Wedges Design Studio. They want nothing more than a nurturing environment and a loving family. Many of you have taken initiative and rescued a Wedge in need, and we sincerely thank you for your support. But there is much work to be done. Many more Wedges are looking for homes.

That's why, this weekend, we are proud to launch the We Are Wedges Online Adoption Center.

Just think: For the cost of a coffee a day for one month, you too can save a Wedge in need. And we're talking real budget coffee here. If you drink extra-large 172 degree half-sweet no-foam soy frappamochas, you're looking at under a week.

But, unlike those other cheapskate charities that only send you a picture of your adopted emu or whatever, we will send you an actual factual plush wedge, that you are actually factually adopting.

Please. Think of the Wedges.

Wedges - Missing in action for TIFF

So Wedges have been missing in action for a bit as I worked and participated in TIFF - The Toronto International Film Festival.

TIFF is a publicly-attended film festival organized by the Toronto International Film Festival Group. It is held each September in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Showcasing over 300 films from all over the world. Every year it begins on the Thursday night after Labour Day and lasts for ten days. Film screenings take place at many venues such as the AMC @ Toronto Life Square across from Dundas Square, Roy Thomson Hall, The VISA Screening room @ the Elgin Theatre, The Winter Garden Theatre, Ryerson, Scotiabank Theatre, EzabelBader Theatre, Cumberland, Jackman Hall - AGO, ROM - Royal Ontario Museum, Varsity, 5th Element, Sutton Place Hotel, and the Al Green Theatre. Now in its 31st year, it is widely recognized as the most important film festival after Cannes and the most successful public film festival in the world.

Working for TIFF, I got to meet and work with some of the best people I have ever worked with as well as see a few movies such as...

DMC - Detroit Metal City

Embodying Japanime charm, this film is about a farm boy following his dream of becoming a swedish pop singer, only to be sucked into the dark world of death metal and then learning that his fate is to follow his own advice of " No Music, No Dream".





The Burning Plain

Starring a few big names such as Charlize Theron, Kim Basinger, and Joaquim de Almeida, this film shows us how the past and present life events of 5 people shape their lives and characters.




Eden Log

About the journey of a man who has lost his identity and his literal effort to climb out of his futuristic grave through the maze of what once seemed to be the grizzly roots and foundation of a futuristic society.















The Biggest Chinese Restaurant in the world
A documentary about "West Lake Restaurant" and the lives of its owner Mrs. Qin Linzi, its workers, and its patrons.







With stars, lights, cameras, films, and of course the red carpet, who wouldn't take a working holiday to attend TIFF!

Fan Expo 2008 Photos

Whoa! FanExpo was a blast! Long days, but large amounts of awesome. Thanks to everyone who stopped by the We Are Wedges booth to say hello, and to everyone who took a wedge (or two, or three, or four) home with them. Tons of people had awesome costumes, and many were kind enough to let us take pictures of them:




Oh, there were a fair number of Star Wars costumes, too. In some areas you were in the minority if you weren't a stormtrooper:

Countdown to Fan Expo 2008 - DAY 1

Wow! Who's this girl? She's pretty hot! Is she wearing any pants? I guess we'll never know. UNLESS YOU GO TO FANEXPO AND FIND OUT, THAT IS. $35 for a picture, though? $25 for an autograph? Man, I went to a Star Trek convention in grade 7 and Marina Sirtis signed autographs for free. She danced around the stage at the beginning and posed provocatively, too. And I got free instructions on how to build my very own tri-corder! What does this girl have on Counselor Troi? Well, the no-pants thing, I guess. But that's not even guaranteed.
